| Hey Y’all, I’m in our Volvo right now driving with Drew to play a show. It seems appropriate to write this letter in the car since we’ve spent the better part of the last 4 years traveling from city to city. Thanks for all of your support along the way. Truly, we couldn’t do what we do without you. Many of you have asked me if I’m ever going to make a record of my own songs, so I’m writing to let you know that I finally did it! We’ve released “Magnolia EP” and I couldn’t be more excited. For the most part, the songs on this record came from some time I spent reading through the Psalms. They are simple, just me and a guitar, and my hope is that they will be a great encouragement to you. I recorded most of them with my dad, Brown Bannister, who is a gifted producer and an incredible father (and yes, I had to pinch myself b/c it was pretty dreamy getting to work with both Drew and my dad at the same time). We also revisited Magnolia and The Valley from our Million Miles Away album because they too came out of this same season of writing. We ended up with an acoustic record full of songs that I believe to be honest and full of truth that I so often forget. Please spread the word and know that my hope is that these songs will be a blessing to you. It certainly has been a blessing writing and recording them.
