Has anyone else been looking forward to a new year? If you could see me now, BOTH of my hands would be raised!!! To me, this song is the soundtrack of Love healing our wounded places and beckoning us to get up again to tell the stories of our scars. I hope Brand New Day feels like a companion to you as we head into this new year, a friend reminding you that our suffering never gets the final word because of how God loves us. This song reminds me that even though we all fall, make mistakes, and make a mess of our lives sometimes, Love is ever ready to meet us in these broken places and lift our heads. I hope you loved the song today, and that it reminds you that no matter how many times we mess things up, we can take heart and hold onto the hope that we are dearly beloved in every breath we take. We can struggle, fail, and fall, but we can also get back up again and tell the stories of how LOVE has met us in our darkest places and biggest messes. There are mercies new.
