Fighting Words Friday: Rejoice
Fighting Words Friday: But God
This is one of the first verses I ever memorized, and I can’t quit it. I love that it openly acknowledges that we may fail. I don’t know about you, but I fail all the time, and it is here in our failures and mistakes that the two words, “… but God” come crashing into all of our not enough. I’m so grateful that God promises to be our strength and our portion, even when we fail…
Fighting Words Friday: Even Though
Fighting Words Friday: My Fighting Words
A lot of you have asked me over this year about my personal “Fighting Words”... the verses and the truths that I hold onto when I’m fighting back the lies that I so often believe. This Year
Happy New Year, y'all!
Cheers to new beginnings! I LOVE ringing in the new year. There's something so beautiful to me about getting a fresh start. God gives us one every morning, but I love taking a bird's eye view of the year at hand and making a plan to pursue health and love and wellness. I wonder how many of you have new years resolutions?

The plan was to drive to ATL in the morning, rehearse with their band, sing and share at their event, and then drive home the same night. Sounds crazy, but I love a late night drive. : ) It was a blast rehearsing with their worship team in the afternoon as we anticipated how God would meet each college student who walked through the doors that night…until… I suddenly started feeling VERY nauseous…
Letting Kids Be Kids
I was playing for an adoption benefit, and Emmylou, who had just turned 3, kept asking if she could come sing a song on stage with me. I felt nervous about this for her, so we walked her through when and where she would come on stage to sing. We had a little stool set up in front of a mic for her and the plan was for her to sing the first song of the night with me. As I was introducing her and getting her all set on the stool, she leaned up to the mic and said, “Actually mom, I’m gonna drum.” My heart started beating REALLY fast. This is not what we had planned... I was both a mom and an artist performing, and I had NO idea how to handle the situation…
